When I talk about communication with friends, the image below comes up frequently. I think its power lies in visualizing the spectrum of communication and design. It is meaningful to me because I think a lot about the different forms of communication we embark on.
Here I define the word “design” as “intentional decision-making”
I see a spectrum of design & communication as listed below
- Communication / design with self
- Communication / design between two beings
- Communication / design in small intentional groups
- Communication / design on the systems & meta scale
